From its beginning more than 70 years ago, Mosman Home Gardeners’ Society has adapted to the changes in gardening and lifestyles. With almost half of Mosman’s residents now living in townhouses, apartments and flats you don’t have to have a garden to belong to our club. A shared love of gardens and gardening is what brings us together.
New members, visitors and guests are welcome.
Please see above for photos from our Southern Highlands Bus Trip, visiting Red Cow Farm, Sutton Forest, Abbi Park and Perennial Hill.
The December Meeting will be held on December 12. It is themed 'My Favourite Garden'. Please bring your favourite garden photos and special experiences to share with your fellow gardeners. Christmas supper will follow the meeting!
Looking forward to seeing you all there!
Our Spring ramble took us to Wyong Road, a north facing road with a range of different plantings. We started the walk with a visit to the end of Ryries Parade to view the work done by Bud Coffey and the residents of that road in creating a delightful copse of greenery at the end of their road. The spring colours we identified on this walk were as follows:
Red: Hibiscus, Pohutukowa (Metrosideros – NZ Christmas bush), Alternanthera, Grevillea
Pink: Geranium, Azalea, Aloe, Bougainvillea, Alstoemeria (Peruvian Lily)
Mauve: Tulbaghia violacea (Society garlic), Wisteria sinensis
Cream: Viburnum odoratissimum,
Yellow: Gazania, Anigozanthus (Kangaroo Paw), Daisy
White: Mandevilla, Spiraea (May), Osteospermum (African Daisy), Diosma (Coleonema pulchrum), Rhaphiolepsis (Indian Hawthorn), Honeysuckle
